Campbellsville, KY man pleads guilty to bank robbery charges Cases involve robbery of Cecilian Bank, and of Bank of Buffalo in 2013 From U.S. District Attorney's Office United States District Court, Western District of Kentucky LOUISVILLE, KY (July 7, 2014) – A Campbellsville, Kentucky man pleaded guilty today in United States District Court, before Senior District Judge John G. Heyburn II, to two counts of bank robbery, announced David J. Hale, United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky. Joshua Riley Spangler, age 28, admitted in court to robbing through force, violence and intimidation, the Cecilian Bank, located at 235 East Western Avenue in Sonora, Kentucky of $1,019. on January 15, 2013. Further, defendant Spangler admitted to robbing through force, violence and intimidation, the Bank of Buffalo, located at 2441 Greensburg Road in Buffalo, Kentucky of $9,125. on February 27, 2013. Spangler was charged by federal grand jury indictment on November 20, 2013. If convicted at trial, Spangler faces no more than 20 years in prison, a fine of $500,000 and a three year period of supervised release. His sentencing is scheduled before Senior Judge Heyburn on October 10, 2014 at 1:45 in Louisville. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Randy Ream, and is being investigated by the Kentucky State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
