Brenda Joyce Akin Bryant, Green County, KY (1951-2014)

She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Calvary Temple in Columbia, Kentucky. She was also retired from Fruit of the Loom, Inc. She leaves six direct living descendants.

Mrs. Brenda Joyce Akin Bryant, 62, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on July 3, 2014 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 62 years, nine months, and 10 days of age.

The funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Joyce Akin Bryant will be conducted at 2pmCT, Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Homer Stephens and Bro. David South will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 3pm-9pmCT, Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service.

Mrs. Brenda Joyce Akin Bryant of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of Virginia Arnett Akin of Greensburg and the late Wesley Akins, Jr., was born on September 23, 1951 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on July 3, 2014 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 62 years, nine months, and 10 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Calvary Temple in Columbia, Kentucky. She was also retired from Fruit of the Loom, Inc.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Danny Ray Bryant, having united in marriage on July 17, 1971.

Other survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Erica and B.J. Whitlow, and Angie and Chris Hudgins all of Greensburg, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Jalyn Hudgins, Kirsten Whitlow, Kellen Whitlow, and Tanlee Hudgins all of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Don Bennett of Columbia, KY

  • Her mother-in-law: Vera Louise Robertson Bryant of Canmer, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
