Dallas Hatter, Casey County, KY (1940-2014

He was a retired EMT for the Casey County Ambulance with 19 years of service and a former court security guard at the Casey County Judicial Center for the Casey County Sheriff's Office. He was a member of the Walltown Christian Church, a farmer, and a former Casey County Constable. He loved to fish and enjoyed the Casey County Apple Festival. Dallas was an avid UK Wildcat fan. He was the son of the late Charles Clinton Hatter and Lillie Wall Hatter. His beloved wife of over 55 years, Jean Durham Hatter, survives. He leaves three direct living descendants.

Dallas Hatter of Walltown, KY, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 74.

Funeral services are 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday July 2, 2014 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Greg Powell officiating. Mr. Hatter will be laid to rest Dunham Cemetery. Visitation is 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers will be current and former member of the Casey County Court Security Guards.


Dallas Hatter, Casey County, KY (1940-2014)

Born Sunday, February 18, 1940 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late Charles Clinton and Lillie Wall Hatter. He died June 30, 2014, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 74 years. 4 months, and 12 days.

He was a retired EMT for the Casey County Ambulance with 19 years of service and a former court security guard at the Casey County Judicial Center for the Casey County Sheriff's Office.

Dallas was a member of the Walltown Christian Church, a farmer, and a former Casey County Constable. He loved to fish and enjoyed the Casey County Apple Festival. Dallas was an avid UK Wildcat fan.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Jean Durham Hatter, whom he married September 27, 1958, and the following:
  • A son: Danny (and Angie) Hatter of Danville, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Clint Hatter and Kellie (and Josh) Dillman

  • Three brothers: Bobby Gene (and Betty) Hatter and Leonard (and Rita) Hatter both of Lawrenceburg, KY; and Lynville (and Cathy) Hatter of Walltown, KY

  • Four sisters: Joann Floyd and Juanita Carman both of Walltown, KY; Rose Alma (and Wallace) Sims of Kings Mountain, KY; and Betty Jean (and Gary) Falconbury of Mt. Olive, KY
In addition to his parents, Dallas is preceded in death by a son, Jeff Hatter; daughter, Annette Bell; and a brother, Ronnie Lee Hatter.
