General Rules for all Fair Events, plus rules specific to livestock at the Fair.

2014 Adair County Fair General Rules and Regulations
  1. No premiums shall be awarded to any animal or article without competition unless the judge considers it worthy. If only one exhibit in class, we will drop back and pay second place prize.
  2. The association will try to prevent accidents but will not be responsible for bodily injury to spectators or exhibitors, or the damage of property. Only owner and exhibitor and authorized personnel allowed in start gate area.
  3. Directors reserve the right to withdraw the premiums list in the event of rain, epidemic, or unforeseen occurrence.
  4. In order to minimize danger, no one will be permitted to cross the track during the showing of a ring.
  5. In order to minimize confusion and help eliminate errors in premiums, only those officers, directors and officials on page 5 will be permitted inside Secretary’s Office or Judge’s Stand at any time during the entire meet. No exception will be tolerated.
  6. Admissions shall be paid daily before entering grounds and all persons who have paid one admission and leave the grounds will be required to prove payment of that day’s admission before re- entry.
  7. All exhibitors must pay admission fees before entering grounds.
  8. No glass bottles or glass containers allowed on grounds for safety.
  9. The Association reserves the right to postpone or cancel the program at any time on account of weather or unforeseen occurrence.
  10. Any person using obscene or abusive language to the Judge or an Officer or Member of the Fair Association will be ejected from the Fairgrounds and shall not be permitted to enter again during the remainder of the fair.
  11. Any conduct unbecoming of an exhibitor or owner will eliminate party from participating in further competition during the remainder of the fair.
  12. The decision of the judges will be final.
  13. Should owners approach and speak to the judges in regard to an animal or article unless requested to do so for information, their animal or article shall not receive the premium and their conduct shall be considered disorderly and unsportsmanlike.
  14. The managing Directors reserve for themselves the sole and absolute right to interpret all conditions and regulations and arbitrarily determine and settle all matters, questions and differences, in regards thereto as connected with the fair; also to refuse any entries, disqualify exhibitors, or to cancel the award of prizes.
  15. All exhibitors working horses on track will have guards at all times on gates at track crossings, except during the show programs.
  16. Open classes are open to all exhibitors unless otherwise specified.
  17. Entries in 4-H, FFA, and FHA classes must have been produced in conjunction with an approved project sponsored by these organizations.
  18. Premium checks will be written and paid on same-day basis of events. Come to the judges stand to receive payments or premiums.

Livestock Health Regulations
The Adair County Fair is planned and conducted according to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture Regulations for the use of state funds.

All livestock/animals offered for sale or exhibition at Kentucky County Fairs shall meet the following regulations according to KRS Chapeter 257:
a. 302 KAR 20:040 (Entry into Kentucky)
b. 302 KAR 20:065 (Sale and Exhibition of Kentucky Origin Livestock)
