Letter: commends Westlake Staff, sees need for hospital

Bill Wheat writes:
Ed, I would like to take time and thank *Westlake Hospital and the ER staff that was on duty Sunday when I had to take my wife there for chest pains and a possible MI. They worked hard and professionally to get her stable and called Air Vac. They did everything right and timely, which prevented her from having more damage to her heart.

They are to be commended for the hard work they do to save lives, although the hospital is troubled and short of personnel. Again I commend them for a job well done and for doing what they do. Now I see why we need to keep our hospital: the doctor in Louisville said everything was done as it should have been done and in the right time frame. - Bill Wheat
*Westlake Regional Hospital, 901 Westlake Drive, Columbia, KY. Phone 270-384-4753. CEO Neal Gold. Board Chairman Richard Grant, members David Herbst, Brad Keltner, and Bruce White. (One board vacancy).
