Jon Halsey: All wildlife isn't (wild)

Young miscreant created demand that writer do something, which he did

By Jon Halsey, Knifley, KY

Since today (Sunday) seems to be a day for tales of the fauna, I thought I would send this proof that all wildlife isn't.

This young miscreant was causing the wife "deep, dark depression and fits of a-g-o-n-y" and demanded that I DO SOMETHING!

Having been acquainted with this gentle lady previously, I had a suspicion how the scenario would play out so I grabbed the Brownie on the way out the door.

Sure enough, my exhortations were for naught so I grabbed her ear (don't laugh, it works on the horses) to try to persuade her to move to less civilized surroundings.

Rather than pulling or running away, she seemed to enjoy the attention.

After exchanging pleasantries and catching up on the neighborhood gossip, she finally headed toward the holler for a long drink from the pond.

Cautionary tale, don't even think about trying to get this close during the rut! - JON HALSEY

What was done, at spousal behest to do something
'I grabbed her ear (don't laugh, it works on the horses) to try to persuade her to move to less civilized surroundings,' Jon Halsey wrote later. Above, a two handed operation not recommended for amateurs: Halsey holds the young doe with one hand, holds 'Brownie' with other to capture his up close and personal encounter.

"Rather than pulling or running away," Jon Halsey writes of he young doe evicted by the ear from her meal of the Halsey's tiger & day lilies, "she seemed to enjoy the attention. After exchanging pleasantries and catching up on the neighborhood gossip, she finally headed toward the holler for a long drink from the pond."
