Taylor County RECC directorship ballots mailed to members

Directorships for representatives from Adair and Green County are open; all members throughout the cooperative's territorys vote in both races . Two candidates are running in Adair County, incumbent Gregg Bardin faces challenger Chad Taylor. In Green county, six candidates, listed below are seeking the seat vacated by Pete Kessler, who left the board after a long tenure because of health reasons.

Ballots for the election of two directors of the Taylor County RECC were mailed Friday, June 20, 2014 to the over 25,000 members of the cooperative. Most members will receive e the ballots today, Saturday, June 21, 2014 or Monday, June 23, 2014.



The open seats are one of two seats for Adair County and one of two seats for Green County. However, the voting for each director is cooperative wide, with all members throughout the Taylor County RECC territory voting for both open seats.

The contest for the Adair County seat is between incumbent Gregg Bardin, and challenger Chad Taylor.

In Green County, six candidates are running to fill the seat of Pete Kessler, who resigned last fall because of health reasons. They are Tony Matney, Gregg Corbin, Jim Curry, Larry Handy, C.W. Vanarsdale, and Jeff Eastham. The representation is based on membership. Taylor County RECC is governed by a 7 member board, two each from Taylor County with approximately 9200 members; Adair County, approximately 7,300, and Green County, approximately 5,400, and one from Casey where there are approximately 3,700 members.

The current board Raymond Rucker and Chris Tucker from Taylor County; Gregg Bardin and Bradley Irvin from Adair County; Donald Shuffett from Green County (Green's other seat vacant); and Brian Clements for Casey County.

Members have 10 days to vote. The ballots will be counted on July 3, 2014.
