Maxine Burton, 80, of Russell Springs, died Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Russell County Hospital ER, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services for Maxine Burton will be 11amCT, Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Sunday, June 22, 2014. Burial will be in the Brockman-Kerr Cemetery, Columbia, KY.



Pallbearers: Ronnie Cook, Dwight Kerr, Tony Kerr, Kevin Kerr, Ottis Earl Kerr, Jr., and Ricky Kerr.

She was born June 9, 1934 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late of the late Olie Owen & Martha Bolin Kerr. She died Friday, June 20, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 80 years, 11 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Burton, Jr.; two sisters, Darlene Kerr, Ruth Kerr; and a brother, Kenneth Kerr.

Survivors include the following:
  • Eleven children: Carolyn (Howard) Gaskins, Russell Springs, KY; Randall (Jeannie) Burton, Ft. Wayne, IN; Larry (Vickie) Burton, Ft. Wayne, IN; Jimmy (Ann) Burton, ussRRu, Bobby (Debbie) Burton, Ft. Wayne, IN, Patsy (Jeff) Smith, Russell Springs, KY; Brenda (Arnold) McGaha, Russell Springs, KY; Johnny (Kathy) Burton, Russell Springs, KY; Marcy (Gary) McGaha, Louisville, Joe Burton, Columbia, KY; and Cathy (Michael) York, Somerset, KY

  • Host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and -great great grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Doris Cook, Columbia; and Bonnie Stephens, Russell Springs, KY

  • Four brothers: Charles Kerr, Louisville, KY; Ottis Earl "Tooney" Kerr, Lanesville, IN; Bobby Kerr, Russell Springs, KY; and Carlie Kerr, also of Russell Springs, KY

  • Half sister: Ruth Ann Hoover, Russell Springs, KY

  • Half brother: Jeff Kerr, Russell Springs, KY
