A Soft Skill Tip: Dressing up improves income Small changes in habit make big difference in income: Is spending almost as much time dressing up for work as important as dressing up for Easter Sunday church? Anecdotal evidence is available that it does. It goes like this: A wait staffer dressed in classic feral hippie style was getting below average tips. On his own, without encouragement from management, he changed styles to formal black-and-white, complete with tie, and tips were measurably better. A great thing for him.
