ACHS Class of 2014 Commencement Exercises Friday, June 6

Commencement exercises for the Adair County High School Class of 2014 will take place on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 7pmCT at the John Burr Memorial Gymnasium, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY. Each senior who is participating in the graduation ceremony has been given two tickets for early entry. Ticket holders may enter the gym at 5:30pmCT. The general public may enter at 6pmCT.



There are 186 students in the graduating class. Twenty students will be wearing gold cords indicating that they have completed high school with a four-year cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher on a weighted 4.0 scale. Additionally, 55 students will be wearing red, white, and blue cords signifying that they have a four-year cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.74 on a weighted 4.0 scale. One-hundred-ten students have met the standards for receiving a college preparatory diploma, as well.

Emily Peck will be delivering the valedictorian's address. Emily is the daughter of John and Susan Peck. Her four-year GPA is 4.317 on a weighted 4.0 scale. Natalie Bertram will be delivering the salutatorian's address. Natalie is the daughter of Irvin and Teresa Bertram. Her four-year GPA is 4.286 on a weighted 4.0 scale.

Special music will be performed by graduating senior Kelsey Pyles and the ACHS Band.

The motto for the Class of 2014 is "Go into the world and do well, but more importantly, go into the world and do good." by Minor Myers, Jr.; the class flower is the Calla Lily, and the class colors are Royal Blue and White.

Emily Kathleen Peck
is the 19 year old daughter of John and Susan Peck. Her four-year GPA is 4.317 on a weighted 4.0 scale. During high school her involvement has included Beta, FCA, Girls Basketball, NHS, NAHS, Peer Tutoring, Pep Club, SADD/Champions, Science Club, Softball, and STLP. Honors and awards received during high school include 2013 Governor's Scholar, Freshman, Sophomore, and Senior Class Treasurer, office holder in numerous organizations, 2nd Runner-Up in Basketball Homecoming, 2012-13 and 2013-14 Basketball All-District Academic Award, numerous Basketball and Softball team awards.

Natalie Bertram is 2014 Salutatorian

During high school her involvement has included 4-H Teen Leadership, Beta, FBLA, FCA, Girls Basketball, NHS, Pep Club, SADD/Champions, Science Club, Softball, STLP, Volleyball, and Student Ambassadors. Honors and awards received during high school include 2013 Governor's Scholar, 2013 All District Softball Team and numerous other softball awards, numerous Volleyball awards, Miss Senior, Freshman Class, Sophomore Class President, and Junior Class President.
