The artistic talent of Myers began to be noticed when he was very young. His first grade teacher, Mrs. Rafferty, held on to two of Myers' pencil drawings for over a decade, returning the sketches of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln to the artist upon his high school graduation. Inspired by other photo realists, Myers has succeeded in obtaining an amazing photographic quality in his pencil drawings.

Known for his vivid depictions of Americana life, his works were recently featured in the Louisville Courier-Journal by columnist, Byron Crawford. Today, Myers operates an art studio from his home and has sold his prints worldwide.

The Hiestand House/Taylor County Museum is in the historic structure which is one of only 12 German stone houses still standing in Kentucky. It was built in 1823, is furnished with period antiques and has a detached kitchen, spring house, flower gardens, servant quarters, the Hiestand-Chandler-Gilmore cemetery and much more. - Virginia Graves
