Mrs. Elzora Yocom, Taylor Co., KY, (1931-2014)

She was of the Baptist faith, and had spent the majority of her life working as a maid in a church home. She was a native of Edmonson County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County at the time of her death. She was the widow of John Francis Yocom. She leaves 17 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Elzora Yocom of Campbellsville passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014. There will be a funeral service held at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718 on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 12pm noon CT/1pmET. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 3, from 10amCT/11amET until time for the service.



Mrs. Elzora Yocom, Taylor Co., KY, (1931-2014)

She was born in Brownsville, Edmonson County, KY, the daugher of the late Charlie and Nola (Blair) Gipson on January 10, 1931 and departed this life in Campbellsville Taylor County, KY, at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 21 days.

Mrs. Yocom was married to John Francis Yocom, who also preceded her in death.

She was of the Baptist faith, and had spent the majority of her life working as a maid in a church home.

Mrs. Elzora Yocom is survived by the following:
  • Five children: Jerome Yocom, Bryon Yocom, Dorothea "Doddie" Wells, Clay Yocom and wife Sharon, and Dwight Yocom, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • One sister: Temple Rogers of Murray, KY

  • Nine grandchildren
  • Twelve great-grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Yocom was preceded in death by six siblings: Cal Gipson, Cotton Outland, Marie Jaggers, Romie Gipson, Lawrence Gipson, and Margie Lay.
