Joyce Crew, Casey Co., KY (1939-2014)

She was a native of Casey County and a resident at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ester Fair Cain. Her beloved husband of over 51 years, Curtis R. Crew, survives. She leaves five direct living descendants. She was a homemaker and member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. Joyce loved to quilt.

Joyce Crew of Casey County, KY, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She was 74.

Funeral services are 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Sunday, June 1, 2014 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Smith officiating. Mrs. Crew will be laid to rest in Fair Cemetery. Visitation is 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the funeral home.

Born Thursday, June 22, 1939 in Casey County, KY, she is the daughter of the late Stanley and Ester Fair Cain. She died Thursday, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, on May 29, 2014, at the age of 74 years, 11 months, and 7 days.

She was a homemaker and member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. Joyce loved to quilt.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Curtis R. Crew, Casey County, KY (1934-2016), whom she married July 23, 1962 and the following:
  • A son: Eddie Crew of Liberty, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Trent, Abi, Jack and Vinny

  • A brother: Jimmie Cain of McKinney, KY
  • And two sisters: Mary Etta Clements of Maysville, KY and Emma Lou Vorbroker of Clearwater, Florida
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Crew; three brothers, C.W., Cleo, and Herlin Cain; and a sister, Margratha Luttrell.
