He was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of Jefferson County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late William O "Rooster" McCubbins and Pauline Shope McCubbins. His wife of 42 years, Joanna Bagby McCubbins, survives. He leaves 3 direct living descendants. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Summersville Baptist Church. He was a welder and sheet metal worker for Local 110 out of Louisville, KY.

Mr. Garry Steven McCubbins, 62, of Green County, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

The funeral services for Mr. Garry Steven McCubbins will be conducted at 11amCT, Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Jerry Noe and Bro. Todd Davis will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pm until 9pmCT, Thursday, May 22, 2014, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Friday until time of the funeral service.


Pallbearers: Jackie Bagby, John Tyler Bagby, Byron Bagby, Bryan Barber, Sammy Davis, Alex Hutcherson, and William Chaudoin.

Honorary pallbearers: Mark Chaudoin, Aaron Wayne Milby, and Jane Todd Crawford Hospital ICU Nurses.

Garry Steven McCubbins, Green County, KY (1951-2014)

Mr. Garry Steven McCubbins of Green County, Kentucky, son of the late William O. "Rooster" McCubbins and Pauline Shope McCubbins, was born on Sunday, July 22, 1951 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Monday, May 19, 2014 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. He was 62 years, 9 months, and 27 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Summersville Baptist Church. He was a welder and sheet metal worker for Local 110 out of Louisville.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mrs. JoAnna Bagby McCubbins, of Greensburg, KY. They were united in marriage on July 9, 1971.

Other survivors include the following:
  • A son and daughter-in-law: Troy Steven and Julie McCubbins of Greensburg, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Cody Lane McCubbins and Kiley Beth McCubbins both of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister: Gloria Lee Davis of Indiana

  • Special friends: Mark and Mary Lynn Chaudoin, and Bryan and Jamie Barber; and a host of relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, which can be made at the funeral home.

Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
