LWC Men's Basketball adds Julian Edmondson to 2014-15 class Edmonson averaged 10.6 points per game last season playing for Abilene Christian University By Charles Balcom COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball program signed Julian Edmonson to its 2014-15 recruiting class, head coach Paul Peck announced on Thursday, May 22, 2014. "We needed a great shooter and athlete at the second guard position and are lucky to sign Julian," Peck said. "He is an excellent shooter and a very strong, physical player that had success at the NCAA Division I level." Edmonson, a 6-foot-1 inch guard from Fort Worth, Texas, joins the Blue Raiders after playing a season with Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. Edmonson appeared in 29 games for the Wildcats where he averaged 10.6 points and 18.7 minutes per game. His largest scoring output came on Feb. 22 when he dropped 33 points on 12-of-18 shooting in a win over Southwestern Adventist (Texas). Edmonson also recorded games of 27 and 26 points last season while shooting 38.9 percent from the field, including 37.6 percent from beyond the arc. Edmonson played his sophomore season at Independence Community College (KS) where he appeared in 30 games, averaging 9.4 points per game off the bench. Twice during the season he made six three-pointers in a game and finished the year shooting 37.9 percent from three-point range. At Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Worth, Edmonson averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals his senior season. He earned Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2011 and appeared in the Dallas-Fort Worth East-West All-Star Game and the North Texas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game in his time at Fossil Ridge. "I expect Julian and D'on Hall to be a very potent one-two punch this season," Peck said. - Charles Balcom This story was posted on 2014-05-22 13:29:13
