LWC Men's Basketball signs Bryan Wallace to 2014-15 class Wallace was on two state newspapers' All-State 2nd Team list Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Chris Wells COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball program signed Montgomery County High School senior point guard Bryan Wallace to its 2014-15 recruiting class, head coach Paul Peck announced on Friday, May 16, 2014. "We are tremendously excited to have such a high caliber student-athlete such as Bryan join the Blue Raider program," Peck said. "We've been fortunate to have outstanding point guards here at Lindsey Wilson over the last decade and Bryan has the potential and desire to carry on that tradition." Wallace, a 6-foot guard from Mt. Sterling Ky., is a 2014 Courier-Journal and Lexington-Herald Second Team All-State selection. He was named to the 2013-14 All 10th Region team after averaging 17.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting 54 percent from the field and 42 percent from beyond the arc. "It's a great feeling and I am blessed to be playing college basketball with a great coach, on a great team and in a great program," Wallace said. "I'm really excited to get started at Lindsey Wilson College." Wallace was named 2014 Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches Region 10 Player of the Year runner-up and a member of the KABC East All-Star team. "Lindsey Wilson is getting a great person on top of all his basketball skills," said Jason Holland who coached Wallace his senior season at Montgomery County. "Bryan is a good leader and good teammate and I think that is important when you play at the next level. He made big shots for us this year and is an outstanding defender. I'm really proud of Bryan for leading our team." As a junior, Wallace averaged 16.1 points per game while shooting 57 percent from the floor. He shot 40 percent from beyond the arc and 78 percent from the line. He was named to the 2013 Sweet 16 All-Tournament Team after averaging 17 points per game in the three games at Rupp Arena. "We've been blessed with some terrific players from the Bluegrass State and Bryan fits that mold," Peck said. "He had a terrific high school career and we are confident he will continue that on the collegiate level. "Bryan's addition, along with the rest of our recruiting class and all of our returners, will help our program remain as one of the top NAIA programs in the country," Peck said. - Chris Wells This story was posted on 2014-05-17 02:01:10
