She was native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of her death. She was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late William & Kate Potts Warner, and the widow of Arlus "Shorty" Warner. She leaves 92 direct living descendants

Ruby E. Withers, age 100, of Russell Springs, died Friday,May 16, 2014 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral services for Ruby E. Withers, will be 10amCT, Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel , 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Carl Mack Thomas and Bro. Josh Owens officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wilkerson Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Greg Withers, Tony Withers, Carl Withers, Mike Withers, Randy Withers, and Scott Powell.

Ruby E. Withers, Russell Springs, KY (1913-2014)

She was born Monday, August 25, 1913 in Adair County to the late William & Kate Potts Warner. She died Friday, May 16, 2014, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 100 years, 6 months, and 22 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arlus "Shorty" Withers; five sons, Leonard, Everett, Dean, Elwood, & Hubert Withers; three brothers, Perry, Wayman, and Jimmy Warner; and two sisters, Dorothy Lawless Withers, and Mary Dick Stone.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four children: Jewell (Iva) Wade, Windsor, KY; Leola (Bobby) Benefield, Dallas, Georgia; Charles Withers, Paxton, Illinois; and A.G. (Joan) Withers, Gifford, Illinois.
  • Eighty-eight grandchildren and great grandchildren
