Click on headline for complete story By Duane Bonifer COLUMBIA, KY- Area residents can enjoy a Sunday night concert will also helping support a children's hospital in Asia. Lindsey Wilson College Instructor of Music Wansoo Cho and four colleagues will perform a benefit concert at 5pmCT/6pmET Saturday, May 17, at Campbellsville United Methodist Church, 317 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Cho, who plays violin, will be joined by William Budai on piano; Saulo De Almeida on bass; Chad Floyd on percussion; and Denis Santos on flute. The quintet will give a concert of American fiddle tunes, along with jazz and samba standards. A reception will follow the concert. The concert will raise money for the group's upcoming June 17-July 1 tour of South Korea. The tour will include Cho's debut as guest conductor of the United Korean Orchestra on June 30. Cho will conduct the United Korean Orchestra at South Korea's 1,400-seats Busan Arts Center, which is in his hometown. All the proceeds from the June 30 concert will be donated to the city's pediatric hospital. Cho will conduct the United Korean Orchestra in Franz Von Suppe's "Light Cavalry Overture," Franz Joseph Haydn's "Piano Concerto No. 11 in D Major" and Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade. - DUANE BONIFER This story was posted on 2014-05-14 15:09:38
