Rash of auto break-ins spurs Campbellsville PD to issue warning Four auto breakins in one day: Campbellsville Police are looking for suspect: Believed perpetrator; described as a white female; approximately 21 years of age; dark hair; approximately 5'2"; 150 pounds. This person was wearing a white shirt during the afternoon theft time periods; however, she is believed to have been wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt jacket during the morning hours.. Police urge extra diligence: Motorists advised to lock parked cars at all time, despite tendency in hot weather not to do so Click on headline for complete story By Anne Sanders, Campbellsville 911 The Campbellsville Police Department investigated four automobile break-ins on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Campbellsville Police have responded to at least four instances of automobile break-ins (thefts) today in the area of Green River Plaza and Lake Way Shopping Center. Thefts occurred at Campbellsville Walmart The thefts began this morning at the Walmart when an employee reported their car had been broken into and contents taken. Another incident occurred at the Wal-Mart later in the afternoon when another car was entered and items taken. Another break-in in Lake Way Shopping Center Police also investigated a break-in at the Priceless IGA in Lake Way Shopping Center. An employee's car was broken into at approximately 3:00 PM and a woman's purse was taken. Another incident occurred in the parking lot of Goodwill where an automobile was entered and a wallet stolen. Officers Bart Gilpin & Roy Rodgers investigation Officer Bart Gilpin, Officer Roy Rodgers, and Officer Jacob Hedgespeth are investigating these thefts. Their investigation has produced a description of the believed perpetrator; described as a white female; approximately 21 years of age; dark hair; approximately 5'2"; 150 pounds. This person was wearing a white shirt during the afternoon theft time periods; however, she is believed to have been wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt jacket during the morning hours. Campbellsville Police ask assistance The Campbellsville Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify the suspected perpetrator. Anyone with information about these thefts or the identity of this woman, please contact the Campbellsville Police at 270-465-4122. Motorists urged to be diligent in locking cars Police warn all citizens to be diligent in locking their cars. Realizing as the weather gets warmer, there will be a tendency to leave windows cracked or partially down, police caution citizens to abstain from this practice to reduce the opportunity for thieves to gain entry to their vehicles. - ANNE SANDERS, Campbellsville 911.
