COLUMBIA, KY - A total of 17 Lindsey Wilson College nursing seniors were honored Thursday night, May 8, 2014, by the college's nursing faculty at the college's annual pinning and recognition ceremony at V.P. Henry Auditorium.

The 17 students - who will graduate Saturday with a bachelor of science degree in nursing -- received their nursing pin from the college's nursing faculty to symbolically represent the completion of their undergraduate studies. Select students also received division awards from their peers and the faculty.

The ceremony also included the presentation of the inaugural Elizabeth Lowe Whitfield Nursing Professional Development Award. The award is named in honor of the late Adair County native Elizabeth Lowe Whitfield, who graduated from the college and served on the board of trustees for more than 30 years. Rachel Hope Ray of White Mills, KY, received the award.
