Recognizing National Correctional Officer week: May 4-10, 2014 Rick Wilson lists positions and those filling them. Also recognizes Jail nurse Rhonda Neat - it's also National Nurse week Click on headline for complete story By Adair County Jailer Rick Wilson I wish to acknowledge the Adair County Regional Jail Staff during National Correctional Officer week May 4 -10, 2014. They are: Full-time Floor Deputies: Pam Grant (Secretary), Kay Butler, Alan Burton, Marc Evans, Eric Antle, Dennis Selby, Bonnie Loy, Mark Jones, Ricky Bennett, Mark Selby, Ricky Huckaby, Michael Brockman and Andrew Austin. Full-time Floor Deputies/Cooks: Judy Derman and Pat Ferguson. Full-time Dispatchers: Karen Tiller, Toon Burton, Lonnie McAllister and Regina Thompson. Part-time Deputies: Kathryn Burton, Mary Curry, LeeAnn Roy, Carolyn Burton, Johanna Spencer, Jennifer Parrigin, Tim Beard, Christian Dykes, Misty Willis and John Updike. Rhonda Neat is Jail nurse In addition, it is National Nurse Week May 6th - 12th and I would also like to recognize our Jail nurse, Rhonda Neat, for her skilled and competent medical care. I am constantly amazed with the dedication of the Jail staff to their job. I frequently discover staff going beyond the call of duty. I often wonder what motivates them to be this loyal because it is not the pay check. I have come to the conclusion that I have a great bunch of people to work with. The job is very dangerous because we never know when inmates may be planning to try escaping or attempting assaultive behavior. Some inmates believe they have nothing to lose and would not hesitate to take either an inmate or staff member down. Jail employees often in dangerous situations Jail employees are subjected to dangerous situations often. The public hears when someone is arrested and lodged in jail, but the community may not realize problems such as suicide threats or attempts, physical, mental and sexual assaults by inmates. The jail is very busy on a 24 hour basis. It is my pleasure to express my sincere appreciation to each member of our Jail staff for carrying out the important duties of incarceration with the upmost highest degree of character and integrity. Join me in praying that each employee is always fortunate enough to complete their shift and go home safely to their family. Thank you, Rick Wilson Adair County Jailer This story was posted on 2014-05-04 07:34:59
