AC Spurs 4-H Horse Club takes 1st Place in District Jr. Show Next it's on to State for Brett Whisman, Anna Evans, Austin Fruth, and James Whisman. Adair Co. Spurs 4-H Horse Club Bake Sale/Paper Clover Drive, is 10am-1pmCT, at TSC, 817 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Sandra Rowlett The Adair County Spurs 4-H. Horse Club had the top four highest scores in the Junior Judging event at WKU Ag Center in Bowling Green, KY on Thursday April 17, 2014, and took First Place in the Junior Judging event. The top four score were Brett Whisman -258, Anna Evans -256, Austin Fruth-251 and James Whisman-246. These four will be team one at State Horse Judging in June to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. BR>< The other scores are Rebecca Mahieu- 206, Elizabeth Stamper-235, Lexi Gist-241, Kacie Karnes-242, Aspen Fruth-223, Layla Powell-216, Sarah Darnell-238, Olivia York-223and Desiree Whisman-230 possible high score is 300. Cassie Rowlett, our only Senior member to compete, placed 10th in the Senior division of the Hipology contest. These kids did a great job and will all be advancing on to State Horse Judging and Hipology which will be held in Lexington, KY June 11-13, 2014. Hipology is the over all knowledge of breeds, colors, markings, equipment, feeds, forages, etc. and judging is the knowledge of conformation and movement of the horse along with breeds, colors, markings. We will be having a bake sale at TSC, 817 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY, this Saturday April 26, 2014 from 10am-1pmCT in conjunction with the Paper Clover Promotion to help raise funds to pay the State entry fees. We will also have a contest pole pattern set up for a Stick Horse Pole Bending Race weather permitting. We hope you all can come out and lend us a helping hand! - SANDRA ROWLETT.
