11 Lindsey Wilson Students Honored for Scholarship

COLUMBIA, KY - A total of 11 Lindsey Wilson College students were honored Wednesday night for their leadership at the liberal arts college. The students were recognized at the annual "L3 Student Leadership Banquet," held at Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center.



"L3" -- which stands for live, learn and lead -- is an award given by the college's Office of Student Services to students who are exemplars of leadership at the college and in their community.

The program is administered by the LWC Civic Engagement and Student Leadership Program.

Three students received top honors for outstanding community and and campus leadership and service: Lorran Hart of Gamaliel, KY; Emily Ramage of Columbia; and Bailey Scott of Auburn, KY.

Eight students received honorable mention: Felix Casa del Valle of Louisville, KY; Michael Firquin of Bonnieville, KY; Kanisha Frye of Cadiz, KY; Brooke Harmon of Columbia; Hannah Hayduk of Kutztown, Pa.; Jonathan Joseph of Louisville, KY; Miran McClendon of Louisville, KY; and Megan Winstead of Louisville, KY

Students were selected based on nominations by the LWC community and then a review by a panel of evaluators.

The banquet's keynote address was given by LWC alumnus Chris Estes of Lexington, KY A 2000 graduate, Estes is a Lindsey Wilson trustee and bestselling author on the topic of leadership.

The top three students received plaques honoring their work. All 11 students received a copy of Estes' book, The A.P.P.L.E. Principle: Five Daily Actions That Lead to Success in Network Marketing, as well as a book about leadership selected by LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. - DUANE BONIFER, Public Relations Director, Lindsey Wilson College.
