Easter with Tillie - An entry in the Family Album

Click on headline for item with outtake photos

By Granddad

Yesterday Linda and I got to visit with Tillie at her private, just-for-her Easter Egg Hunt. It was a grand day, Tillie got to show off her egg art, her prowess at finding them, her tree house, the basement she, her dad, and some great friends had transformed.

We met some her very intriguing imaginary "brothers," listened to one of her performances pre-nap time (and thought, granddad like, it would be a great pilot for a kid's television series), and found out that the animal du jour is the cat - though they have to be portrayed rather than owned, because of allergies.

We had an Easter dinner which couldn't be beat, and, the high point for granddad, being entrusted if only briefly at table, with the care of Bunny.

Bunny was Easter clean and bright. He - hope I have the gender right; if not, I'll get corrected by Tillie - had just received one of his dozen or less lifetime visits to the laundry. It's a traumatic time, because the stuffed toy has to be hung up to dry by its ears. That's painful. I can only imagine it.

There are a few outtakes from the visit in the accompanying Waggener family annual album entry. Hope readers will indulge proud grandparents, Ed & Linda Waggener of Columbia.

(Tillies other Waggener cousins & co-Shelby Countians, Graham, Evan, & Miss Hailey Elizabeth, were in Flat Woods, Greenup County, where a good time was also had by all.) - GRANDDAD

A visit with Tillie on Easter

2014-04-21 - Shelby County, KY - Photo by Granddad. Tillie put in a really active day hunting Easter Eggs Sunday. And, at this time was at ready for snuggle-with-Mommy, Pre-nap 1. Stage 2 is quiet time with Mommy. Stage 3 - alone in her room: a 15 minute audible production, with sometimes animal parades, sometimes conversations with imaginary friends, sometimes dialogue, sometimes monologue - sometimes musical - even a bit operatic. Then a nap - a brief time - for a period rarely as long as the prologue. - - Granddad. Tillie's Columbia grandparents are Linda & Ed Waggener.

All the eggs in one basket

2014-04-21 - Shelby County, KY - Photo by Granddad. Totally almost three Tillie found all seven eggs at her private hunt on Sunday, Easter Day 2014. The orange one was found last, by Tillie unaided, before Mom & Dad, Uncle Pen, or Mema or Granddad discovered it. - Granddad. Tillie's Columbia grandparents are Linda & Ed Waggener.

Just as much fun as an egg hunt - blowing bubbles

2014-04-21 - Shelby County, KY - Photo by Granddad. After the hunt, enjoying the Easter Bunnies' gifts - As much fun as hunting Easter eggs was, Tillie enjoying her the industrial size bubble kit the Easter Bunny brought. While her Dad opened the kit, she monitored from a window at her summer home under the tree beside her neighbor's violet patch. - Granddad. Tillie's Columbia grandparents are Linda & Ed Waggener.
