Rejuvenation Celebration, May 3, 2014, Green Extension office

By Audrey Meyers
Green County Extension Agent for Consumer Science and Nutrition

The Homemaker Clubs of the Green County Extension Service will hold a Recycle, Repurpose and Renew/Rejuvenation Celebraton sale, at the Green County Extension office, 298 Happyville Road, Greensburg, KY, 9am-20pmCT, Saturday, May 3, 2014. Donations for the sale are welcome If you think you have items that someone else can use creatively, please call 270-932-2479 or 270-932-5311 or stop by the Extension Office for a booth application.

Our local communities are home to so many people who make creative use of their pastimes. And, over time, our homes become filled with valuable resources which we no longer need. A creative individual can use these resources in his art, craft or trade. The Homemaker Clubs of the Green County Extension Service are attempting to Recycle, Repurpose and Renew these hidden treasures to you at this unique sale.

We are not selling completed crafts. But we are offering the raw goods you can use in your handiwork and hobbies. Items needing refinishing, beads for jewelry, thread, yarn and fabric, books, puzzles and game pieces may be found here. Odds and ends of all kinds as well as quick lessons and lots of advice will be available.

Also, we will have some tasty snacks concessions, creative raffle items, as well as “make and take” items for sale. We have tried to consider all of your “pastime” needs and we’ve been receiving requests for pillow stuffing, old cheese graters, funnels, old windows, sea shells and old time bed springs. This is a community project offered by the Green County Extension Homemakers for the support of military families, food and nutrition, child and elder care programs, and community projects like Help, Hope & Hands, just to name a few. - Audrey Myers
