By Shamarie Claiborne

The atmosphere of San Antonio at night is completely different than in the day time. Everything is softened yet more alive and striking at the same time. There are people everywhere and there are these boat running up and down the river. There is live music coming at you from every direction. It is very interesting and beautiful. Here are a few shots from different places across the city. - Shamarie Claiborne

For those that have seen the movie Miss Congeniality you will remember the talent portion of the contest where Sandra Bullock plays the wine glasses. The scene was filmed in this amphitheater. You may recognize the bells. - Shamarie Claiborne

This shot is of one of the many restaurants
along the Riverwalk in the background to the left you can see the Hilton Palacio del Rio Hotel which is a one of kind marvel. It is a modular hotel that was built for the 1968 World's Fair when builders had fallen behind. It was completed in only 46 days. - Shamarie Claiborne

An Evening out in San Antonio: Reminder to visit Venice

2014-04-15 - San Antonio, Texas - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne.
There are many of these little bridges along the river
that allow you to travel from one side of the river to the other. This area put me in mind of Venice, Italy or I should say pictures I have seen of Venice. As a child it is the only place in Europe I wanted to go. Actually, I still want to go there, it is at the top of my bucket list. Maybe that is why I enjoyed San Antonio so much. - Shamarie Claiborne

The Crockett Hotel was right outside the window of my hotel.
It made me think of home each time I walked into my room. The Alamo is right on the other side of the Hotel. - Shamarie Claiborne

An Evening out in San Antonio: Even underpasses are festive

2014-04-15 - San Antonio, Texas - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne, Adair Co. School District photo.
Underpass
Even the underpasses are decorated and festive. San Antonio could show the rest of the country how to make concrete and steel more attractive. Louisville could take a few hints. It really is the small things that impress me though. - Shamarie Claiborne
