Leon McGaha, Russell Co., KY (1934-2014)

He was a native of Columbia, Adair County, KY, and a resident of Jamestown, Russell County, KY at the time of his death. He was a prominent, highly regarded merchant, owner of McGaha Tire and Service and a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was he son of the late Jack & Edith (Burton) McGaha. His wife, June McGaha, survives. He leaves 4 direct and 4 step living descendants.

Leon McGaha, 79, S Main Street, Jamestown, KY, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at 8:01pmCT, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11amCT, Saturday, April 12, 2014, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, with Bro. Tim Ratcliff officiating. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel. Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery, N Main Street, Jamestown, KY.


Leon McGaha, Russell Co., KY (1934-2014)

He was born October 10, 1934, in Columbia, Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Jack & Edith (Burton) McGaha. He died Monday, April 7, 2014, in Jamesown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 28 days.

He was owner of McGaha Tire and Service and was a farmer. He was a member of Welfare Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, June McGaha, and the following:
  • Two sons: Damon, husband of Cindy McGaha and Mark, husband of Vivian McGaha, both of Russell Springs, KY

  • A daughter: Suzanne mGaha, Lubbock, TX

  • Two step sons: Billy, husband of Theresa Kelsey, Stanford, KY and Steve, huband of Kelly Kelsey, Russell Springsm KY

  • Two brothers: Jackie McGaha and Jimmy McGaha, both of Russell Springs, KY

  • One sister: Alberta Burton, Columbia, KY

  • One grandson: Cliff MGaha

  • One step grandson: Jordan (Jessalyn) Kelsey

  • One step granddaughter: Makenzie Kelsey

  • And a host of nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Antle and one stepson, Jordan Redmon.

H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, in charge of arrangements.
