COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson baseball team was able to hold off a final-inning surge by Bryan (Dayton, TN) and win 7-5 Tuesday night, April 8, 2014, at Lindsey Wilson's Egnew Park.

Four Blue Raiders recorded multiple-hit performances in the win. Michael Rosario led the way going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Mitchell Osnowitz and Jeandro Andino also went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Osnowitz scoring twice. Derek Shugart tallied a two-hit day with two runs scored. Jordan Berry and Nick Hoffman each added an RBI in the win.

Lindsey Wilson (22-19) took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Shugart and Osnowitz hit back-to-back doubles to score one run and Osnowitz later scored on a sac fly by Berry.

Following a scoreless second inning, the game was delayed for two and a half hours due to lighting and rain.

After the intermission, Bryan (24-18) got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth when a run scored on a groundout to cut the lead in half. The Lions had a runner on third with one out but were unable to score.

Lindsey Wilson answered in the bottom half of the inning after Hoffman led off with a double. Rosario singled to right-center field to score Hoffman and push the lead to 3-1.

Bryan would again trim the lead to one after scoring a run in the top of the fifth on a pair of singles to make it 3-2.

The Blue Raiders had a response ready in the bottom half of the inning. Shugart reached on an error and moved to third on a single by Osnowitz. Andino reached after bunting on a safety squeeze that scored Shugart and moved Osnowitz to second. The runners moved to second and third after a sacrifice bunt by Berry. Hoffman hit a sac fly to score another run. After moving to third on a bunt single by Mark Silva, Andino would score on a base hit by Rosario to make it 6-2.

Lindsey Wilson would tack on their final run in the bottom of the seventh. With Silva on second base, the Blue Raiders put on a hit-and-run with Rosario at the plate. Silva took off as Rosario hit a chopper to the shortstop and was already making the turn for home by the time the throw was made to first for the out. Silva was able to slide headfirst underneath the tag at home to give Lindsey Wilson the 7-2 lead.

The Lions were able to score a run in the top of the eighth after a Blue Raider throwing error to make it 7-3.

Osnowitz struck out the next batter before giving up a single followed by a Blue Raider fielding error that scored two runs and cut the lead to 7-5. With the go-ahead run at the plate, Osnowitz zeroed in and recorded back-to-back strikeouts to end the game.
