Billy Rowe, Columbia, KY elected VP, American Dairy Association Dairy farming is an honest profession that makes a tremendous contribution to the good health and overall well-being of individuals,I strive, everyday, to protect our land, our cows and our milk. - BILLY ROWE By Denise Jones Columbia, KY - Retired Southeast United Dairy Industry Association (SUDIA) Board of Director, Billy Rowe was recently elected vice president of the American Association of Kentucky board. Rowe is a second-generation dairy farmer and has owned and operated Rowe Farms, Inc. in Columbia for more than 20 years, in partnership with his son, Freddy. The Rowes milk 212 cows and farm 500 acres of land. "I enjoy dairy farming," said Rowe. "You have the freedom to be your own boss and the opportunity to produce a product that people can enjoy and benefit from having. It's a good way to live and to earn a living." In his hometown, Rowe has served as District 7 Magistrate since 2010 and an active member of the Columbia Adair County Jaycee, the Adair County Farm Bureau, the Adair County Chamber of Commerce Board and the Adair County Cattlemen's Association. He has also served on the board of the Kentucky Dairy Development Council, as vice president for the Cumberland Dairy Herd Improvement Association, and serves as the vice-president of the American Dairy Association of Kentucky's Board of Directors. Rowe is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture. He and wife, Hanna, attend Trinity Methodist Church in Columbia and have three children and three grandchildren.
