Yes. Sandusky Mill Hill is across Russell Creek from old Columbia Comments re photo 54185. Oil well with spectacular view of Lindsey Wilson City of Columbia Ann Curtis writes: Where is Sandusky Mill Hill located? Is it "across the creek" where William Sandusky's mill used to be? ~ Ann CurtisThanks, Ann Curtis That's the place. It's at the very end of the Joe (Russell) Barbee Road, off Campbellsville Road. Sandusky Mill Hill isn't an official name, it's just the one Joe Collins used to describe where the well is located, and it had a nice ring to it. On the Bull Run Road end of the ridgeline, it is Gobblers Knob, so officially the short name may may be "Sandusky Mill Hill Peak of Gobblers Knob." Gobblers Knob is official. It was named by Ol' Joe Barbee, decades before he was the BBQ King. The ridgetop and environs is prestigious territory, with a number of mansions dotting the highest elevations. - EW This story was posted on 2014-04-03 01:58:41
