Reini Brickson earned a national "A" standard en route to winning the race walk event Click on headline for complete story By Charles Balcom COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson women's outdoor track and field turned in a third-place finish at a cold and rainy Lindsey Wilson College Invitational on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Blue Raider Stadium. The Blue Raiders finished with 80 total team points on the day while Campbellsville (KY) finished first with 119 points and Georgetown (KY) took second with 91 total points. In the first event of the day, Chanel Roberts and Rachel Green got the Blue Raiders on the scoreboard with a second and fifth-place finish, respectively, in the high jump. Roberts reached 1.52 meters while Green hit 1.42 meters as the duo combined for 11 team points. Roberts added 10 more points after winning the shot put event with a distance of 12.21 meters. Katie Hartney added a seventh-place finish with a throw of 9.05 meters to pick up two points. In the first track event of the day, Maria Cozzens picked up five points in the 3,000 meter steeplechase after posting a time 13:28.68 for fourth place. Allyson Davis gave the Blue Raiders another four points after finishing fifth in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 5:28.63. In the 400 meter dash, Kimberley Stevens took first place after finishing in 1:01.99 earning 10 team points. Kailey Moorhead added a fourth-place finish in the event with a time of 1:03.88 to pick up five points. Lindsey Wilson dominated the 5,000 meter race walk taking first, second and third in the event. Reini Brickson reached a national "A" standard with a time of 26:27.19 while finishing first. Amanda Bland took second with a time of 27:46.10 while achieving a national "B" standard. Bland finished just one second short of an "A" standard. Jourdann Green added a third-place finish with her time of 28:49.17 to earn six points. The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Kaile Short, Stevens, Moorhead and Nacia Johnson finished second with a time of 4:28.54 to add eight points to the Lindsey Wilson total. - CHARLES BALCOM, Assistant Sports Information Director, Lindsey Wilson College.
