Auditions for 2014 Theatrefest! May 4-5, 2014

Auditions for Theatrefest! production for 'The Sound of Music' will be 6pmCT Sunday, May 4, and 6pmCT Monday, May 5, 2014, in Lindsey Wilson College's V.P. Henry Auditorium, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY. At the auditions, area residents will be required to perform a song a capella. It is also preferred that they perform a prepared monologue.

COLUMBIA, KY - Southcentral Kentucky's regional summer drama program is looking for area residents to help make the region's hills come alive with music in July.



TheatreFest! - a regional summer drama program based at Lindsey Wilson College -- will hold auditions May 4-5, 2014, for the production of the Rogers and Hammerstein classic The Sound of Music.

The musical will be performed July 17-20, 24-27. Rehearsals will begin May 12. The play will be directed by LWC Assistant Professor of Theatre Robert Brock, who is TheatreFest! artistic director.

TheatreFest! auditions will be 6 p.m. CT Sunday, May 4, and 6 p.m. CT Monday, May 5, 2014 in Lindsey Wilson College's V.P. Henry Auditorium, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY. At the auditions, area residents will be required to perform a song a capella. It is also preferred that they perform a prepared monologue.

First performed in 1959, The Sound of Music is one of the more popular musicals written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. The book is by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The story is loosely based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers.
