Fellow Brothers and Sisters of Christ Jesus:

One of our sister's, Teresa Stotts, was divinely inspired to have a visual witness this Easter season, that would revive the hearts of Jesus' followers and impact those who are lost, to understand God's great love for us all. She suggested the Jesus Walk.

The Jesus Walk will be a 10 mile journey from the City parking lot at the NW Corner of Campbellsville Street and Merchant Street, around the square, up Jamestown hill, to Bomar Heights, turning left toward Wal-Mart on 61 South and ending at Sparksville Baptist Church. It is estimated to take 4-5 hours to complete. We will meet Good Friday, April 18, 8:30amCT, at the city parking lot, beside the Judicial Center, 201 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, and begin the walk at 9amCT.

We will need men to volunteer, to take turns carrying the cross. How about you? They will wear a tunic and a crown of thorns which will be provided. Next will be volunteers who will carry the spikes and mallet. They will be dressed in regular clothes. This will show that we are all guilty of sin and are the reason Christ was nailed to the cross. Prayer walkers will follow behind. They will be praying as the Holy Spirit directs, for lost souls to be saved, for the leaders of our federal, state, county and city government, for our businesses and for revival, unification and strengthening of believers of our county/city. Some will be fasting as directed by the Holy Spirit. They will also have pamphlets that can be handed out, with the pure Gospel message of John 3:16, the sinner's prayer with scripture references, and an invitation to attend the church of their choice.

There will be several entry and exit points along the route where people can join or stop walking. Each person will be responsible for his/her own transportation to these points. Each person will have to decide what he/she is able to safely do. We will however, have a vehicle traveling with us in case of an unforeseen need to drop out of the walk . It is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes and appropriate attire for the weather conditions. We encourage your to bring a bottle of water. This will be held rain or shine.

This is not meant to be a parade or something to enter into lightly. It will be a personal journey, unique to each participant as our relationships to Christ are both personal and unique.

We invite you to participate in this journey in body and /or prayer. We are praying that God direct every step, every detail, that He put a hedge of protection around all of us and this effort, that He begin even now to soften the hearts of the lost in our families and community and finally a unification and revival of Adair county Christians. Please let us know by April 7th, if you plan to participate. Contact John or Jill England 270-217-5118; Teresa Stotts 270-378-5522; Phillip Stotts 270-866-0993 or Donnie Beard 270-634-3997.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration,

Peace and Blessings,

for the Jesus Walk Committee
--Jill England
