Last year our Sunday School class was discussing "random acts of kindness." In fact we even had cards printed to give to the recipient of our random act of kindness. Last week John and I were on the receiving end. After the ice/snow storm we had a mound of ice against our garage door. On Saturday, John decided we should remove it. Guess he was tired of driving over the mound!

We proceeded on this adventure with several tools we thought adequate for the task ahead. While chipping away at the ice and making little progress, an unfamiliar vehicle pulled into our driveway.

A lady asked if we needed some help. John and I looked at each other as if to say, "Do you know her?" Before we could answer she had hopped out of her SUV took my "chopping tool" and said "I am from Ohio and I know how to do this kind of stuff!" I began to scoop up what she and John were chopping. She again looked at me and said," Here let me do that."

Before I could speak she had my snow shovel and the ice mound began to be removed to the side. We both thanked her and told her how much we appreciated her help. She replied that she was glad to do it and God Bless us.

Our snow angel hopped in her vehicle and was gone as quickly as she arrived. Thank God for people who still perform random acts of kindness to help their fellow man and expect nothing in return.
