Personal Commentary

I say shame on Columbia Gulf for not doing the right thing. They cost you and your family your home and peace of mind for years to come. I believe, I would write as many media sources as I could and let them know how they have treated your family.

They all showed up to report the disaster, I am sure some would be interested in doing a follow up story on what happens to the families when they try to return to normal life. Columbia Gulf needs to make things right with your family and others who had damage from this disaster.

They also, need to cover all costs our county incurred in responding to this disaster. I would be interested to know if they reimbursed the county and state for their costs. All those volunteer fire departments who helped should receive a nice donation from Columbia Gulf as well. I hear they gave some to the Knifley Fire Department, but haven't heard of any others that have received donations.

After seeing the one page ad in the local newspapers, I had high hopes that Columbia Gulf would do all it could to see that all those involved would be treated right. - Victoria Pike

Thanks, Vicky Pike - Our hopeful belief is that Columbia Gas will handle this in a responsible manner. Of equal importance is what the Federal government will do what will be done to make the pipelines safe. Even if another tragedy occurs on the 30 year cycle we've experience lately, that's two soon. True, we were spared the loss of human life, but that was only through sheer luck and timing. Of as great a concern is the psychological impact of the disaster. One military veteran has likened that to post traumatic stress disorder. - EW
