LWC Women's Tennis blanks Georgetown 9-0 on Friday The Blue Raiders earn their first win of the season before Georgetown crowd of 65 Lindsey Wilson hosts Xavier (LA.) on March 21 for an 11amCT/12pmET match at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex, 401 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY By Pierce Yarberry Special to ColumbiaMagazine.com GEORGETOWN, KY - Lindsey Wilson women's tennis opened Mid-South Conference play with a 9-0 win over Georgetown (KY) Friday, March 7, 2014. The Blue Raiders (1-3, 1-0 MSC) earned their first win of the season, starting with Alejandra Galvis and Sarah Bernos defeating Georgetown's Kaelin Roberts and Kelly Swanson 8-1 in the No. 1 doubles position. No. 3 doubles partners Jessica King and Diana Gerlakh then earned Lindsey Wilson another point with an 8-1 win against Alyssa Kennedy and Shelby Eden. Alicia Rodriguez and Anna Gaprindashvili took the final doubles point by beating Natalie Hill and Jacqueline Otis 8-2 in No. 2 doubles action. Galvis opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Otis in No. 1 action, followed by a 6-1, 6-0 win by King over Swanson at the No. 4 position. No. 2 Bernos then bested Roberts by a score of 6-1, 6-2. Wrapping up singles action, Rodriguez defeated Hill 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 3 position; Anna Helena Pinto beat Kennedy 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6; and Gaprindashvili earned the No. 5 point with a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Eden.
