Commentary: Small town life is what it is, small town life

Comments re article 65776, Kathryn Miller Sure she wont regret leaving here

By James Murrell
Personal Commentary

Mrs. Miller, I find myself asking the question of what brought you to Adair County? There must have been something you saw or experienced to want you to move there. Small town life is what it is, small town life.

Sometimes we must ask ourselves, At what price progress? I am proud to be from Adair County. I have not lived there for the last 13 years but return as often as I can to visit friends and family.

I must admit that personally I do not care much for all the new roads, but for business reasons it was a great thing to do.

I can remember as a child how amazed I was that my grandfather seemed to know everyone we would meet in town or on the road; I still have the habit of waving or making some type of greeting gesture to cars I meet on the roadway.

Concerning Politics, If we could all get what we want from the system there would only be one party to vote for, or no party at all.

When people move into a small town and then want to change it into something other than what it is, thats when they become dissatisfied. I would always like for my hometown to be the hometown I grew up in, we all have something we do not like about where we live but hopefully the good things about the community out weigh the bad.
