Kyle Mann, Columbia, KY, wins awards at Celebration of the Arts

Adair Countian wins 1st Place with drawing, 3rd with sculpture. He was a student of Henrietta Scott and Debra Wimmer, and is the son of Brenda & Gary Mann of Columbia, KY. Work is on display at the Kentucky Museum through April 5, 2014

Kyle Mann, a biochemistry major at Western Kentucky University took 1st place in the 2014 Celebration of the Arts, Amateur Art on Paper division with a pencil drawing entitled "Foyer", and 3rd place in the Amateur Sculpture division with a sculpture entitled "Industrious." The awards ceremony and public viewing was held Friday, February 28 at the Kentucky Museum on WKU's campus.



This competitive art exhibition is available each year to all professional and amateur artists living in Kentucky within a 65-mile radius of Bowling Green, KY.

The 2014 Celebration of the Arts exhibit is open to the public March 1-April 5, 2014, at Western Kentucky University's Kentucky Museum, 1444 Kentucky Street, Bowling Green, KY from 9am-4pmCT, Monday through Saturday and 1pm-4pmCT on Sunday.

Kyle owes much gratitude to his mentors, Ms. Henrietta Scott, who first sparked his childhood art interest during community art lessons, and Ms. Debra Wimmer, art instructor at Adair County High. Kyle is the son of Gary and Brenda Mann.
