District 8 crews continue to battle latest wintry mixture By Amber Hale, Public Information Officer KY Transportation Cabinet, District 8, Somerset, KY SOMERSET, KY. (March 3, 2014) - After seeing a Sunday that brought mostly rain followed by a late mixture of sleet and freezing rain in the overnight hours and now accumulating snow, District 8 crews continue to battle the latest wintry mixture. The majority of roads are still covered with snow and ice at this hour. Crews have been working around the clock to keep routes passable and will continue to do so until roadways are clear. Crews in all ten counties which include, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, McCreary, Lincoln, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell and Wayne are mostly plowing at this point, with light salt applications. The cabinet continues to remind motorists:
