Geneva Maybelle Smith Cary, age 74 of Leitchfield, KY, died Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Twin Lakes Medical Center in Leitchfield.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Bro Wayne Clemons officiating. Burial will follow in the Creacy Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Monday, March 3, 2014.



She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and was a daughter of the late Charles and Tina Froedge Smith.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Teresa Langley and Rebecca Priest both of Leitchfield, KY; and Anita ( Johnny) Sanders of St. Petersburg, FL

  • One son: Malcolm Cary of Lakeland, FL

  • Two sisters: Faye (Ron) Freeman of Mooresville, IN; and Linda Thompson of Cincinnati,OH

  • One brother: Marshall ( Kathy Jo) Smith of Edmonton, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • and ten great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Smith and Gary Thompson.

McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY in charge of arrangements
