The rest of the story about the Burton Pawn Shop sign

By Dave Blevins
Just a little more background info of this sign. My name is Dave and in 1987 I was employed by Thad and Teresa Smith, the owners of Green River Graphics, who were contracted to paint (restore) the sign for Burton's Pawn Shop in an effort to beautify and maintain the historic atmosphere of the downtown. Thad and I painted the wall, and you will notice the bottom black and white lettering no longer match the font at the top... the bottom as we painted it read "fine jewelry & guns" to match the top, but was painted over a few years later with "army surplus & everything" by another sign painter, which remained as seen in this photo until the sign was recently painted over in another downtown beautification effort. - Dave Blevins
