Adair falls to Taylor in District Finals

Chance Melton led Adair with 16 points; Ty Bennett, had 12. Indians still advance to 5th Regional playoffs, as will will ACHS Girls, who advance as champions of their 20th District Tournament

The Adair County Indians (17-13) fell to Taylor County (25-6) in last night's 20th district final in Lebanon by a score of 71-48. Both teams will advance to the 5th Region Tournament which will also be held at Marion County.

The two teams combined for 8 first period treys as the Cards pulled ahead 25-19. Taylor connected on five while the Indians knocked down three. The Indians were able to knock down only one trey the rest of the night while Taylor knocked down three more.

The Cards led 36-27 at halftime and pulled ahead 51-33 through three periods. Adair was outscored 20-15 in the final period making the final margin 71-48. Chance Melton led the Indians with 16 points and Ty Bennett tossed in 12 points. Rounding out the scoring were Matt Fudge 7, Jacob Pooler 3, Trevor Willis 3, Cameron Lasley 3, Jake Hixson 2, and Corey Melton 2. Bennett pulled down five rebounds while Marshall Shelley, Hutchison, and Chance Melton came away with 3 rebounds each.
