Pittsburgh in W Appalachia N, had outdoor NHL game in blizzard Jackson Brower writes: Pittsburgh tradionally gets more snow in the winter time than Columbia. As a matter of fact, the blizzard that's headed this way right now will miss Kentucky completely. Last night we watched an outdoor NHL game on TV featuring the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. the Chicago Blackhawks. It was very interesting watching them play in a blizzard, the same one that will be here this afternoon. It's expected to dump 8 to 10 inches on Southwest Pennsylvania. (See photo of Soldier Field just prior to the start of the hockey game.) --Jackson BrowerComments re article 65643 Jackson Brower Pennsyltucky Southern vs Northern areas This story was posted on 2014-03-02 06:39:06
