Stabbing altercation results in arrest on assault charge

COLUMBIA, KY - 28-year-old Eric Melton has been arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree following an altercation with his half-brother, 34-year-old Brian Fletcher. Both men are from Columbia.



Post 15 received the call at approximately 3:30pmCT on Thursday, February 27. At the time of the call, Fletcher was being treated for multiple stab wounds at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia. He was treated and released. A warrant was issued for Melton, who was arrested in Russell County at 6:14pmCT. He was lodged in the Adair County Jail. Tpr. Kenny Brown and Tpr. Nick Hale are investigating. TFC Billy R. Gregory
