Ed Pipalski proposes consolidating public library administrations Comments re article 65555 Public libraries offer valuable educational experiences for all by Ed Pipalski Personal opinion of the writer Use the Public Library weekly; books, paper and audio, movies and research. It is a great asset for Kentucky Communities. Having said that, I am dismayed by the fact that, "We the People" are taxed for two or more separate "Libraries" in nearly every county across the State. What I mean is we have duplicative administrative responsibility buildings, grounds and staffing in the form of both Public Schools and Public Libraries both vying for limited public funding through taxation. It would seem, consolidating all "Public Libraries" under one administrative responsibility would save taxpayers redundant expenses and tax liabilities. Can't the libraries, school and public, share books assets and staffing assets to give the taxpayer's one unified library system? Just a thought . . . - Ed Pipalski This story was posted on 2014-02-25 16:50:54
