Colby Pickett had a unique way of putting things

A memorable quote

By Roger D Smith DMD

It seems as if I have known Colby and Wayne (the Picketts) all my life. The great value of growing up in a small town are the memories of good folks like this couple and so many of the wonderful characters that this community has had over the years. No one was a stranger to Colby.

I have heard many speeches over the years by some famous people and can recall only a few quotes, but the one I will never forget is one Colby spoke to his "BOYS" [Larry Legg, David Upchurch, and me] one morning at Rexall. This concerned fishing in Florida but could be applied to anything and everything Colby expounded upon. I quote: " I'm going to tell you about it, I don't understand it, but I'm going to explain it to you". That was Colby. I thought the world of him. --Roger D Smith DMD
