ACSO investigates tow truck assisting tractor trailer accident

Incident at the intersection of Powell Road and Russell Springs Road, Adair Co., KY

By Adair County Deputy Adam Cravens

The Adair Sheriff's Office investigated an accident involving a private tow truck and tractor trailer which occurred at the intersection of Powell Road and Russell Springs Road, Monday afternoon, February 17, 2014.

The tractor trailer, owned and operated by Ronald Cochran, 55 of Jamestown had stalled out and was dragging his trailer carrying hay bales as he turned from Powell onto Russell Road.

He had contacted Billy Coe, 46 of Russell Springs to come assist in pulling him out.

Upon arrival Coe hitched his tow truck to the trailer and Cochran was able to pull out, but in doing so he continued to pull the tow truck which got caught in a rut and rolled on its side.

Coe was able to be removed from his vehicle on his own; his nine year old daughter who was in the tow truck with him was checked by Adair EMS on scene and released to her parents.
