The win improved the Indians to 15-11 while the Lakers dropped to 15-8. The game remained close throughout. Russell led 15-13 after one period. The score was tied 28-28 at halftime. Adair edged ahead 40-38 after three periods before going on a 20-12 run in the final period to come away with the 60-50 win. The Tribe connected on 11 of 12 from the charity stripe in the final period to secure the win. Senior point guard Matt Fudge led the Indians with a career high 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Zach Hutchison was a perfect 3 for 3 from the trey and scored 14 points. Chance Melton poured in 12 points and hauled in a team high 8 rebounds. Melton also had a season high 4 blocked shots.Rounding out the scoring were Ty Bennett 3, Jacob Pooler 2, and Marshall Shelley 1 point. Indians Fall To Knights 70-55 Special to ColumbiaMagazine.com The Marion County Knights connected on 10 out of 13 three pointers and used a 22-10 second period run to help them down the home standing Indians 70-55 last night at the John Burr Memorial gym, Thursday, February 13, 2014. The win improved the Knights to 19-6 on the season while the Tribe dropped to 14-11. The win also wrapped up the number 2 seed for the Knights. The same two teams will meet again in two weeks when they meet in Lebanon in the first round of the 20th district tournament. The Indians led 15-13 after one period but trailed 35-25 at halftime. The Knights led 52-39 after three periods before pulling away 70-55. Senior point guard Matt Fudge was the only Indian in double figures with 12 points. He also handed out 7 assists. Rounding out the scoring were Zach Hutchison 9, Jacob Pooler 8, Chance Melton 7, Ty Bennett 7, Aaran Taylor 5, Marshall Shelley 4, and Noah Polston 3.
