KY State Police Post 15 Activity for January 2014

Fatalities total 3, January 2014 compared to 2 in January 2013 in Post 15 area; statewide, January fatalities down from 47 to 43

Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

COLUMBIA, KY - During the month of January 2014, there were 25 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were three fatal collisions during the month of January in the Post 15 area.


  • Martin, Phillip, age 20 of Knifley KY was killed on 01/02/14 in Taylor Co KY
  • Colee, Colleen, age 19 of Indianapolis IN was killed on 01/12/14 in Metcalfe Co KY
  • Beal, Michael, age 26 of Hustonville KY was killed on 01/31/14 in Casey Co KY
This brings our yearly fatality count to 3 compared with 2 through this same period in 2013.

State wide fatality count stands at 43 compared with 47 through this same period in 2013.

During the month of January 2014, there were 848 citations written, 173 courtesy notices written, 848 vehicles inspected, 565 complaints answered, 92 motorists assisted, 45 criminal cases opened and 107 criminal arrests made. - TFC BILLY GREGORY.
