Car hydroplanes, leaves KY 80, crashes after sideswiping tree

But 18 year old driver frees self, walks to Appen Avenue residence to call 911; she was treated at scene and taken to Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia

On Monday, February 2nd, 2014 at 8:30pmCT, Columbia Police Department officers were dispatched by Adair County 911 to the 900 block of Russell Road to to investigate a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries.

Upon arrival, officers located a silver 2003 Infiniti over an embankment and overturned. The occupant 18 year old Hailey McQueary was able to free herself from the vehicle and make her way to a residence on Appen Avenue to call for assistance.

Preliminary investigation reveals that McQueary was traveling east on Russell Road
The vehicle then left the roadway and travelled approximately 103 ft before sideswiping a tree and going over a steep earth embankment where vehicle overturned.>BR?>BR? Mcqueary was treated at scene by Adair County EMS and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY.

The Accident was investigated by CPD Ofc. Johnny Dial assisted by Ofc. Josh Brockman. Adair County Search and Rescue and Deputy Aron Rainwater also responded. Ofc. Josh Brockman
